Buster Was Fun To Paint

Once upon a time in the year 1995 a cute little puppy named Buster was born.  He was part of a large brood of ten puppies that were born to Lady dog on that day in August.  Out of the litter of ten dogs we kept Buster and his chocolate Lab sister Amber.  Buster was a Siberian-Husky mix, and a very lovely dog with short legs. As Lady and Amber chased each other up steep hills, Busters short legs made him lumber.  He could barely keep up with them, but I loved that about Buster.  I loved his large head, and how he always wanted to shake my hand.

I will never forget the day I was taking laundry out of the dryer, and his paw landed in my hand the moment it was free.  My love for Buster is limitless, and last month I finished an oil painting to commemorate his beautiful life.  Although Buster is no longer with us, he will always have a place in my heart.

My American Bear Drawing:

This is a drawing of an American bear I made in 2003.   I created him by using simple colored pencils and keeping my eyes on the subject more than on the paper.  One of the best art tips I can give you is the keep your eyes on the subject and not on the paper, which will help you to learn how to draw more quickly.
